Quote of the Day...

Brady: "Mom, it wastes water to take baths and showers every day"

Brady: "Mom, I'm not a girly-boy, I'm just helping Abbey clean up!"
(This was stated because he was holding Abbey's baby doll.)

We're having people over tonight and Brady decided to get out his vacuum and help clean up! He's such a good boy!

Sweet 16...

No that is not my age (shocking I know) but the number of years Matthew and I have been married! And yes, we do know it's Elvis' birthday as well. It was one of our bargaining chips to the parents to bump up the wedding a few months! And of course who can say "No" to Elvis?

Matthew,

You have no idea the amazing man you are. I am so blessed to have found you at such a young age. I am so thankful for your commitment to the Lord, me, your children and your work. I have no doubt in my mind that I am exactly where I dreamed I would be oh so many years ago in my childhood. I love you for supporting me to be a SAHM. I love your sense of humor and your ability of finding the positive side in things. Your passion for the church and our Lord above is what inspires me most. You are such an incredible father, I am just so amazed that the Lord gave you to me. Thank you for our first sixteen years together and looking forward to our journey to forever still to come! I love you!

Last of the NYC pics

More NYC videos

This first video is of the kids getting their first taste of playing in the snow. We found a nice waxy box by a garbage can and Matthew made it into a really nice sled for the kids. Abbey was slightly embarrassed sledding down the hill in a box when everyone else had real sleds or inner tubes...but she enjoyed it after all and ended up going down the hill a couple of times. Brady was a one-time sledder due to the fact that he had "nature in his pants" and was a little grumpy about being cold and wet!

The first night we were there we took the kids to FAO Schwartz and the American Girl store. The kids had a blast looking at everything in the store and of course playing the piano. I know they are rather long videos, but they are worth watching!

NYC - Part 3 - Videos

I haven't had a chance to finish posting pictures from our big NYC excursion. We had such an amazing time...even though we ate at McDonald's more times than I care to admit. Of course the big news is that we timed our trip perfectly. We arrived on Friday around lunchtime and got to see some sights and do some shopping. Then on Saturday we got up and headed over to Rockefeller Center for some ice skating.

Saturday night it started to snow and by Sunday morning it looked like a winter wonderland! This was the first time for the kids to see snow and although they thought it was pretty fun...I think I have cured them of ever wanting to move out of the state of Florida. I think it may have had something to do with the fact that us "Florida Crackers" didn't have all the proper gear to keep from getting wet in the snow! Our little puny Wal-mart gloves just didn't cut it, nor did our jeans that were thoroughly soaked after one attempt at snow angels.

This video was taken first thing Sunday morning, before the city had a chance to fully shovel it's way out of the snow. Most of the sidewalks were still freshly covered and I decided to pull out the camera just to show what NYC looks like before the snow plows come through. I was able to catch a very smooth move by a very cool six year old.
